The following is an update on COVID-19 from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, for your information. Please read through if you are contemplating an appointment.
Chief Medical Officer of Health – Directive for Healthcare Providers
On March 16, 2020 CMTO provided guidance to the profession strongly recommending that RMTs suspend all non-essential Massage Therapy treatments. Subsequent to CMTO’s guidance, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health issued a formal directive to healthcare providers pursuant to the Health Protection and Promotion Act ordering that all non-essential and elective services be ceased or reduced to minimal levels until further notice, with allowable exceptions for time sensitive circumstances to avert or avoid negative patient outcomes or situations that would have a direct impact on the safety of client. This directive applies to all regulated health professionals and persons who operate a group practice of regulated health professionals (e.g. clinic owners).

Maitland Massage will, therefore, be closed for the time-being, except for a time sensitive circumstance to avert or avoid negative patient outcomes. Please call to book if you think this may apply to you. Keep washing your hands, keeping surfaces clean, practicing sneeze/cough etiquette (into the tissue or if no tissue is available, your sleeve, implementing social distancing and following the advice of national, provincial health authorities). If you are able, please make an appointment with Canadian Blood Services to donate blood. We miss you, and look forward to seeing you hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
